Listen to the former President’s statement: “You would like to put every doctor and mother involved in abortions in jail, but you know you wouldn’t have a lick of political support.”
Wow. I can honestly say that I have never heard a pro-life person say anything like that. Most of the ones I know simply want babies that are conceived to be recognized and protected as living humans. Sounds like fear-mongering.
To address his point about protecting individual freedoms, no one is arguing that we should outlaw either choice in view here — the one that opened the door to that baby being in the womb, or the one that tries to remove that baby (i.e., to remove the consequence of the first choice). The pro-life position is the one that protects the baby first and foremost. Included is the fact that that baby needs his or her mom and the best doctors available to survive and thrive. No one wants them in jail.
C’mon Bill! It would be silly, if it were not such a grievous matter.
“The heart idolizes, and the mind justifies it.” Remember that. The idol of power will make people say all kinds of things against those who oppose them.
